Once a month the Healthwatch Salford team has a wellbeing morning together. In the past wellbeing mornings have included activities such as arts and crafts, walks, litter picking or even a simple coffee and cake together. The wellbeing mornings are about the team getting together and connecting over an activity that may open up conversations that might not happen in the normal working day.
The team Wellbeing Morning’s create a positive workplace culture, that promotes wellbeing and therefore a happier and more productive team.
For July’s wellbeing morning, the team met up at Rivington for a walk and picnic, joined by our Engagement Officer Mark’s horse, Ben. Ben is a Fell Pony, and he did a great job at carrying the team’s picnic along the route and provided a calming influence along the walk.
During the walk, Mark taught the team about horses and Fell Ponies, and at the end of the picnic, the team had a short quiz to complete to see if they could remember any of those facts. And to fit the theme of the walk, rosettes were handed out to everyone who took part! Having the wellbeing morning, outside, in a green space added to the wellbeing and exercise benefits from the activity.
